“SOON ALL THIS WILL BE PICTURESQUE RUINS”
EXPO /// TH. 25 JUNE – SU. 5 JULY
“Soon All This Will Be Picturesque Ruins” is a spatial installation which playfully responds to issues of gentrification and the diminishing presence of queer space in cities. Five videos and a series of artefacts show fragments of a process that took place in a neighbourhood of Eindhoven undergoing rapid regeneration.
Over five months, Colin Keays added an imagined history to a shed in Woensel through a series of scenographic interventions and performances. Documented through a space that appears to be somewhere between a ruin and a construction site, the voyeuristic structure poses questions around the viewer’s agency and complicity with processes of exclusion.
