WALLSPACE SITUATION #3

TEXTURE LIKE SUN – ANNE VAN DEN BERG

EXPO /// FR. 17 JANUARY – SU. 16 FEBRUARY

Anne van den Berg invites you to feel, touch, see and play with(in) her sculptural installation.

From a curiosity about psychiatry, specifically the functioning of the human brain, Anne makes sculptural installations in which the connection between our personal development and physical action is made visible. As a result of new technological developments, there is a lack of tactile aesthetics within our society. Continuing to stimulate the brain, through sensory stimuli, promotes lasting personal development. By creating an installation that can be entered by the viewer, the possibility arises of performing actions, reacting consciously and unconsciously to sculptures, which causes sensory stimuli within the vision and the sense of touch.

Her work however should not be considered as a medicine or as a solution within psychiatry, rather a criticism of the accessibility of art and an awareness of the function that art has. Anne’s work is a plea for the necessity of art within our society.
